Text

No sheriff, coroner, or constable shall refuse to pay moneys collected by that officer to the probate judge or other person, when so directed by the judge. For refusal to pay over moneys collected, the officer shall be summoned as provided in section2101.09of the Revised Code and amerced for the use of the parties interested, in the amount required to be collected by the process, with ten per cent on the amount to be collected. The judge may enforce the collection of the amercement by execution or other process, by imprisonment as for contempt of court, or both. The delinquent officer and the officer's sureties shall also be liable on the officer's official bond for the amount of the amercement at the suit of the person interested.
