Text

When required by the probate judge, sheriffs, coroners, and constables shall attend the judge's court and shall serve and return process directed and delivered to them by the judge. No officer of that type shall neglect or refuse to serve and return any process as required by this section. If an officer does neglect or refuse to serve and return process as required by this section, the judge shall issue a summons specifying the cause for amercement, directed to the officer named in the summons, commanding the named officer to summon the officer guilty of the misconduct to appear within two days after the service of summons and show cause why the latter officer should not be amerced.
