§ 21. Assistance to other states, the Dominion of Canada, property\nceded to the federal government and to Indian reservations.
1.Whenever\na fire company or fire department in this state shall answer a call to\nfurnish assistance to any political subdivision or territory of another\nstate of the United States or of the Dominion of Canada, or property\nceded to the federal government, the provisions of this chapter shall\napply with respect to the volunteer firefighters of such fire company or\ndepartment, while such assistance is being rendered or while going to or\nreturning from the place from where the assistance is to be or was\nrendered, to the same extent and in the same manner as if such service\nhad been rendered in or for the area regularly served by such volunteer\nfirefighte

§ 21. Assistance to other states, the Dominion of Canada, property\nceded to the federal government and to Indian reservations. 1. Whenever\na fire company or fire department in this state shall answer a call to\nfurnish assistance to any political subdivision or territory of another\nstate of the United States or of the Dominion of Canada, or property\nceded to the federal government, the provisions of this chapter shall\napply with respect to the volunteer firefighters of such fire company or\ndepartment, while such assistance is being rendered or while going to or\nreturning from the place from where the assistance is to be or was\nrendered, to the same extent and in the same manner as if such service\nhad been rendered in or for the area regularly served by such volunteer\nfirefighters; provided, however, that there shall be deducted from any\namounts payable under this chapter any amounts recoverable by or payable\nto any such volunteer firefighter under the laws applicable in the\npolitical subdivision or territory for which the call for assistance was\nmade.\n 2. The provisions of this chapter shall apply with respect to\nvolunteer firefighters of fire departments and fire companies of other\nstates of the United States and of the Dominion of Canada who render\nservice in this state in answer to a call for assistance to the\nterritory regularly served by a fire department or fire company\ndescribed in subdivisions one to five, inclusive, of section thirty of\nthis chapter and, for the purposes of determining liability for benefits\nunder this chapter, any such volunteer firefighter shall be considered\nas a volunteer member of the fire department or fire company of the\nterritory for which service has been rendered in this state pursuant to\na call for assistance; provided that the laws of the state served by\nsuch volunteer firefighters, fire departments or fire companies, or of\nthe Dominion of Canada, as the case may be, contain provisions under\nwhich benefits are granted in relation to volunteer firefighters of this\nstate who are killed or injured when rendering service in such other\nstates, or the Dominion of Canada, as the case may be, in answer to a\ncall for assistance; provided, however, that there shall be deducted\nfrom any amounts payable under the provisions of this chapter to a\nvolunteer firefighter of such other states or of the Dominion of Canada,\nany amounts recoverable by or payable to such volunteer firefighter\nunder the laws of the state served by such volunteer firefighter or of\nthe Dominion of Canada, as the case may be.\n 3. Whenever a fire company or fire department in this state shall\nanswer a call for assistance to be rendered to any part of an Indian\nreservation the provisions of this chapter shall apply with respect to\nthe volunteer firefighters of such fire company or department, while\nsuch assistance is being rendered or while going to or returning from\nthe place from where the assistance is to be or was rendered, to the\nsame extent and in the same manner as if such service had been rendered\nin or for the area regularly served by such volunteer firefighters.\n
