§ 18. Appropriations for expenses and activities of local veterans'\nservice agencies. Each county and each city of the state in which is\nestablished a county veterans' service agency or a city veterans'\nservice agency, as the case may be, is hereby authorized to appropriate\nand make available to the veterans' service agency of such respective\ncounty or city, such sums of money as it may deem necessary to defray\nthe expenses and activities of such agency, and the expenses and\nactivities of such agencies are hereby declared to be proper county and\ncity purposes for which the moneys of the county or city may be\nexpended. Each\nvillage and town is also authorized to appropriate and make available to\nthe deputy local director heading the consolidated branch office, if\nany, for such village or town and any adjoining village or villages, or\ntown or towns, as the case may be, of the county veterans' service\nagency having jurisdiction within such village or town, such sums of\nmoney as it may determine to defray in part the salary, expenses and\nactivities of the deputy local director heading such consolidated branch\noffice for such village or town and any adjoining village or villages or\ntown or towns, as the case may be, including the salaries of persons\nemployed in such consolidated branch office, and such salaries, expenses\nand activities are hereby declared to be proper village and town\npurposes for which the moneys of such villages and towns may be\nexpended.\n
