§ 21. Assistance to other states, the Dominion of Canada, property\nceded to the federal government and to Indian reservations.
1.Whenever\nan ambulance company or ambulance department in this state shall answer\na call to furnish assistance to any political subdivision or territory\nof another state of the United States or of the Dominion of Canada, or\nproperty ceded to the federal government, the provisions of this chapter\nshall apply with respect to the volunteer ambulance workers of such\nambulance company or department, while such assistance is being rendered\nor while going to or returning from the place from where the assistance\nis to be or was rendered, to the same extent and in the same manner as\nif such service had been rendered in or for the area regularly served by\nsuch

§ 21. Assistance to other states, the Dominion of Canada, property\nceded to the federal government and to Indian reservations. 1. Whenever\nan ambulance company or ambulance department in this state shall answer\na call to furnish assistance to any political subdivision or territory\nof another state of the United States or of the Dominion of Canada, or\nproperty ceded to the federal government, the provisions of this chapter\nshall apply with respect to the volunteer ambulance workers of such\nambulance company or department, while such assistance is being rendered\nor while going to or returning from the place from where the assistance\nis to be or was rendered, to the same extent and in the same manner as\nif such service had been rendered in or for the area regularly served by\nsuch volunteer ambulance workers; provided, however, that there shall be\ndeducted from any amounts payable under this chapter any amounts\nrecoverable by or payable to any such volunteer ambulance worker under\nthe laws applicable in the political subdivision or territory for which\nthe call for assistance was made.\n 2. The provisions of this chapter shall apply with respect to\nvolunteer ambulance workers of ambulance departments and ambulance\ncompanies of other states of the United States and of the Dominion of\nCanada who render service in this state in answer to a call for\nassistance to the territory regularly served by an ambulance department\nor ambulance companies described in subdivisions one to five, inclusive,\nof section thirty of this chapter and, for the purposes of determining\nliability for benefits under this chapter, any such volunteer ambulance\nworker shall be considered as a volunteer member of the ambulance\ndepartment or ambulance company of the territory for which service has\nbeen rendered in this state pursuant to a call for assistance; provided\nthat the laws of the state served by such volunteer ambulance workers,\nambulance departments or ambulance companies, or of the Dominion of\nCanada, as the case may be, contain provisions under which benefits are\ngranted in relation to volunteer ambulance workers of this state who are\nkilled or injured when rendering service in such other states, or the\nDominion of Canada, as the case may be, in answer to a call for\nassistance; provided, however, that there shall be deducted from any\namounts payable under the provisions of this chapter to a volunteer\nambulance worker of such other states or of the Dominion of Canada, any\namounts recoverable by or payable to such volunteer ambulance worker\nunder the laws of the state served by such volunteer ambulance worker or\nof the Dominion of Canada, as the case may be.\n 3. Whenever an ambulance company or ambulance department in this state\nshall answer a call for assistance to be rendered to any part of an\nIndian reservation the provisions of this chapter shall apply with\nrespect to the volunteer ambulance workers of such ambulance company or\ndepartment, while such assistance is being rendered or while going to or\nreturning from the place from where the assistance is to be or was\nrendered, to the same extent and in the same manner as if such service\nhad been rendered in or for the area regularly served by such volunteer\nambulance workers.\n
