§ 94. Assessment to defray operating expenses of the department. 1.\nFor the fiscal year commencing on April first, nineteen hundred\neighty-three and for each fiscal year thereafter, the expenses of the\ndepartment for administering and enforcing motor carrier safety and\neconomic regulation pursuant to articles six, seven, eight and nine of\nthis chapter, exclusive of those expenses related to the safety\ninspection of vehicles, shall be assessed by the commissioner in the\nform of a fee for the registration of interstate operation pursuant to\nsection ninety-two of this article and an annual vehicle regulatory fee\nimposed upon all motor vehicles required to be registered under section\nninety-three of this article.\n 2.
