§ 68. Disposal of records. 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any\ngeneral, special or local law, the Utica transit authority or officer or\nemployee thereof is hereby empowered to destroy, sell or otherwise\ndispose of any book, paper, map photograph, microphotograph or other\nrecord regardless of its physical form or characteristic, which has been\nmade, acquired, or received or is now in its custody and which the Utica\ntransit authority determines no longer has sufficient administrative,\nlegal, fiscal, research or historical value to warrant its continued\nretention and preservation, provided the Utica transit authority\nauthorizes such destruction, sale or other disposition.\n 2. The provisions of this section shall not apply to the following\nrecords of the Utica transit authority unless copies for retention are\nreproduced as provided in section sixty-nine of this article:\n (a) The official copy of the minutes of the Utica transit authority\nincluding appendices and attachments thereto.\n (b) The official copy of any annual report of the Utica transit\nauthority to the commissioner.\n (c) Records which have not been retained for such period of time as\nmay be required:\n (1) by the federal government or any of its agencies;\n (2) by rules and regulations of the state comptroller;\n (3) by rules and regulations of the commissioner.\n
