* § 99-u. New York state teen health education fund.
1.There is\nhereby established in the joint custody of the state comptroller and\ncommissioner of taxation and finance a special fund to be known as the\n"New York state teen health education fund".\n 2. Such fund shall consist of all revenues received by the department\nof taxation and finance, pursuant to the provisions of section six\nhundred thirty-c of the tax law and all other moneys appropriated\nthereto from any other fund or source pursuant to law. Nothing contained\nin this section shall prevent the state from receiving grants, gifts or\nbequests for the purposes of the fund as defined in this section and\ndepositing them into the fund according to law.\n 2-a. On or before the first day of February each year, the\ncommissioner of education shall provide a written report to the\ntemporary president of the senate, speaker of the assembly, chair of the\nsenate finance committee, chair of the assembly ways and means\ncommittee, chair of the senate committee on health, chair of the\nassembly health committee, the state comptroller and the public. Such\nreport shall include how the monies of the fund were utilized during the\npreceding calendar year, and shall include:\n (i) the amount of money dispersed from the fund and the award process\nused for such disbursements;\n (ii) recipients of awards from the fund;\n (iii) the amount awarded to each;\n (iv) the purposes for which such awards were granted; and\n (v) a summary financial plan for such monies which shall include\nestimates of all receipts and all disbursements for the current and\nsucceeding fiscal years, along with the actual results from the prior\nfiscal year.\n 3. Moneys shall be payable from the fund on the audit and warrant of\nthe comptroller on vouchers approved and certified by the commissioner\nof education.\n 4. The moneys in such fund shall be expended for the purpose of\nsupplementing educational programs in schools for health and awareness\nof issues facing teens today when it comes to their health. Eligible\nhealth programs are those with an established curriculum providing\ninstruction on alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse prevention, the\ncauses and problems associated with teen obesity, and for awareness of\nthe symptoms of teen endometriosis.\n * NB There are 2 § 99-u's\n
