§ 69. Duties of treasurer. The treasurer shall demand, collect,\nreceive and have the care and custody of and shall disburse all moneys\nbelonging to or due the city from every source, except as otherwise\nprovided by law. All moneys of the city received by the treasurer shall\nbe deposited and secured by him daily in such depositaries as shall be\ndesignated by the board of estimate and apportionment in the manner\nprovided by section ten of the general municipal law. The interest, if\nany, on all deposits shall be the property of the city and shall be\naccounted for and credited to the appropriate fund.
