§ 42. Duty of other state officers. It shall be the duty of the\nofficer of the state, charged by law with the responsibility for the\npurchase, acquisition, placement, erection or execution of such work of\nart, monument, building, bridge or other structure, in each case to\nsubmit the designs, drawings, models and other information as may be\ndeemed necessary by the office of general services or the commissioner\nof transportation, respectively, together with explanatory statements,\nto such office or commissioner for its or his action.\n
