§ 1892 — Purpose

  § 1892. Purpose. There is hereby created a green jobs-green New York\nprogram. The purpose of the program is to:\n  1. promote energy efficiency, energy conservation and the installation\nof clean energy technologies;\n  2. reduce energy consumption and energy costs;\n  3. reduce greenhouse gas emissions;\n  4. support sustainable community development;\n  5. create green job opportunities, including opportunities for new\nentrants into the state's workforce, the long-term unemployed and\ndisplaced workers; and\n  6. use innovative financing mechanisms to finance energy efficiency\nimprovements through energy cost savings.\n
