§ 1283 — Purposes of the corporation

§ 1283. Purposes of the corporation. 1. The purposes of the\ncorporation shall be the planning, financing, construction, maintenance\nand operation of sewage treatment works, sewage collecting systems, air\npollution control facilities, water management facilities, storm water\ncollecting systems, solid waste disposal facilities and state park\ninfrastructure projects, the construction on behalf of municipalities\nand state agencies of sewage treatment works, sewage collecting systems,\nair pollution control facilities, water management facilities, storm\nwater collecting systems and solid waste disposal facilities, the\nfinancing, for or on behalf of persons, of sewage treatment works, air\npollution control facilities, water management facilities, and solid\nwaste disposal facilities and the making of loans which may, but need\nnot, be secured by mortgage, contracts and other instruments to persons\nfor the planning and construction of sewage treatment works, air\npollution control facilities, water management facilities and solid\nwaste disposal facilities and the assistance of municipalities, state\nagencies and the state in the planning, financing, construction,\nmaintenance and operation of sewage treatment works, sewage collecting\nsystems, air pollution control facilities, water management facilities,\nstorm water collecting systems and solid waste disposal facilities, in\naccordance with the provisions of this title. In addition, the purposes\nof the corporation shall include financing the design, acquisition,\nconstruction, improvement and installation of all or any portion of\nRiverbank Park.\n 2. It is hereby found and declared that such purposes are in all\nrespects for the benefit of the people of the state of New York and the\ncorporation shall be regarded as performing an essential governmental\nfunction in carrying out its purposes and in exercising the powers\ngranted by this title.\n
