§ 1262. Metropolitan commuter transportation district. There is hereby\ncreated and established a commuter transportation district to be known\nas the metropolitan commuter transportation district which shall embrace\nthe city of New York and the counties of Dutchess, Nassau, Orange,\nPutnam, Rockland, Suffolk and Westchester, provided, however, that the\ndistrict shall not include a county that has withdrawn from the district\npursuant to section twelve hundred seventy-nine-b of this article.\n
