* § 9.59 Immunity from liability.\n (a) Notwithstanding any inconsistent provision of any general, special\nor local law, an ambulance service as defined by subdivision two of\nsection three thousand one of the public health law and any member\nthereof who is an emergency medical technician or an advanced emergency\nmedical technician transporting a person to a hospital as authorized by\nthis article, any peace officers, when acting pursuant to their special\nduties, any police officers, who are members of an authorized police\ndepartment or force or of a sheriff's department, and any members of\nmobile crisis outreach teams approved by the commissioner pursuant to\nsection 9.58 of this article, who are taking into custody and\ntransporting a person to a hospital as authorized by this art
