§ 32 — Definitions

§ 32. Definitions. For the purposes of this part, the following terms\nshall mean and include:\n 1. "Board of supervisors." The board of supervisors or other elective\ngoverning body of a county.\n 2. "Charter law." A local law providing, amending or repealing a\ncounty charter, or transferring a function or a duty pursuant to section\nthirty-three-a of this chapter.\n 3. "County." A county of the state except a county in the city of New\nYork.\n 4. "County charter." An alternative form of county government provided\nin accordance with the constitution by act of the legislature or local\nlaw.\n 5. "Local law." A local law adopted by the board of supervisors of a\ncounty pursuant to this chapter or other statute generally empowering\nthe county to adopt local laws.\n
