§ 6. An individual who is acting as governor under this article shall\ncontinue to do so until the vacancy in the office of governor shall be\nfilled by election or by the qualification of the lieutenant governor,\nthe temporary president of the senate or the speaker of the assembly.\nThe removal of a disability or the termination of an absence from the\nstate of an officer higher on the list contained in section one of this\narticle shall not terminate the service in the office of governor of\nsuch individual who is acting as governor.\n
