§ 50. Authority to abandon canal lands.
1.Authority is hereby\nconferred upon the corporation to abandon any portion of barge canal\nlands, barge canal terminal lands, or old canal lands and appertaining\nstructures constituting the canal system prior to the barge canal\nimprovement, which have or may become no longer necessary or useful as a\npart of the barge canal system, as an aid to navigation thereon, or for\nbarge canal terminal purposes. This authority, however, shall not\ninclude the abandonment of a barge canal terminal unless such terminal\nhas been by a special act of the legislature previously determined to\nhave become no longer necessary or useful as a part of the barge canal\nsystem, as an aid to navigation thereon, or for barge canal terminal\npurposes.\n 2.
