§ 57.53. The Amistad commission; duties and responsibilities. The\nAmistad commission shall have the following responsibilities and duties:\n 1. to survey and catalog the extent and breadth of education\nconcerning the African slave trade, slavery in America, the vestiges of\nslavery in this country and the contributions of African-Americans to\nour society presently being incorporated into the curricula and\ntextbooks and taught in the school systems of the state; and, to\ninventory those African slave trade, American slavery, or relevant\nAfrican-American history memorials, exhibits and resources which should\nbe incorporated into courses of study at educational institutions and\nschools throughout the state.\n 2. to compile a roster of individual volunteers who are willing to\nshare
