§ 5000. Separability clause. If any clause, sentence, paragraph,\nsection or part of this chapter shall be adjudged by any court of\ncompetent jurisdiction to be invalid, such judgment shall not affect,\nimpair, or invalidate the remainder thereof, but shall be confined in\nits operation to the clause, sentence, paragraph, section, or part\nthereof directly involved in the controversy in which such judgment\nshall have been rendered.\n
