Text

1. One or more sponsors may form a sponsored captive insurer pursuant to this chapter. 2. A sponsored captive insurer formed or licensed pursuant to this chapter may establish and maintain one or more protected cells to insure the risks of one or more participants, subject to the following conditions:

(a)The shareholders of a sponsored captive insurer must be limited to its participants and sponsors, provided that the sponsored captive insurer may issue nonvoting securities to other persons on terms approved by the Commissioner;
(b)Each protected cell must be accounted for separately on the books and records of the sponsored captive insurer to reflect the financial condition and results of operations of that protected cell, including, but not limited to, the net income or loss, dividends
