Text

1. A license as an alcohol and drug counselor is valid for 2 years and may be renewed. 2. A licensed alcohol and drug counselor may:

(a)Engage in the practice of counseling persons with alcohol and other substance use disorders;
(b)Diagnose or classify a person as having an alcohol or other substance use disorder; and
(c)Supervise certified alcohol and drug counselor interns. 3. A licensed alcohol and drug counselor may not identify, evaluate, diagnose or treat a mental illness when a person with mental illness also has an alcohol or other substance use disorder.
