Any person who violates any of the provisions of this chapter or, having had his or her license suspended or revoked, continues to represent himself or herself as a marriage and family therapist, marriage and family therapist intern, clinical professional counselor or clinical professional counselor intern is guilty of a gross misdemeanor and shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 364 days or by a fine of not more than $5,000, or by both fine and imprisonment. Each violation is a separate offense.
