Any irrigation district heretofore organized and existing under the laws of any state adjoining the State of Nevada, which is now qualified to do business in the State of Nevada as a foreign corporation in the manner provided by law for the qualification of foreign corporations doing business within the State of Nevada, and when the irrigation district is now the owner of lands within the State of Nevada, such lands being now used for reservoir purposes, may and hereby is authorized to acquire title to any land within the State of Nevada by purchase or condemnation necessary or required for dams, ditches, reservoirs and other works for the diversion, conveyance or storage of water which lies within any watershed from which the irrigation district obtains its water supply for the irrigation
