The board of directors of a district is relieved from the duties imposed upon it in NRS 539.255, 539.260, 539.263 and 539.540 to 539.557, inclusive, insofar as the same may not be required in case of a contract between the district and the United States, and in that relation may take advantage of or adopt such surveys and plans as may have been or be made by the United States.
