Text

1. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 2, upon receipt of a certificate of registration, the registered owner shall place it or a legible copy in the vehicle for which it is issued and keep it in the vehicle. If the vehicle is a motorcycle, moped, trailer or semitrailer, the registered owner shall carry the certificate in the tool bag or other convenient receptacle attached to the vehicle. 2. The registered owner of a vehicle which, pursuant to the plan, must be registered through the Motor Carrier Division of the Department, in lieu of carrying a certificate of registration or a legible copy in the vehicle, may provide evidence of registration and other applicable licenses as an electronic image in an electronic format that can be displayed:
