Text

1. The Director may expend money that the Legislature appropriates to assist local law enforcement agencies or the Division of Compliance Enforcement of the Department in the purchase of evidence and in employing persons other than peace officers to obtain that evidence. 2. Upon receiving a written request from the Director, or a designee of the Director, for money appropriated for a purpose specified in subsection 1, the State Controller shall:

(a)Draw a warrant, payable to the Department; or
(b)Electronically transfer money to the appropriate account of the Department, Ê as appropriate, in an amount which does not exceed any limit set by the Legislature in the appropriation. 3. The Director may keep money drawn pursuant to this section in accounts in one or more banks or credit unions
