1. In carrying out the provisions of NRS 439A.200 to 439A.290 , inclusive, the Department:

(a)Shall work in consultation with a quality improvement organization of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services of the United States Department of Health and Human Services; and

(b)May contract with the Nevada System of Higher Education or any appropriate, independent and qualified person or entity to analyze the information collected and maintained by the Department pursuant to NRS 439A.200 to 439A.290 , inclusive. Such a contractor may release or publish or otherwise use information made available to it pursuant to the contract if the Department determines that the information is accurate and the contractor complies with the regulations adopted pursuant to subsection 2. 2. 3. The Department shall, on or before July 1 of each year, submit to the Joint Interim Standing Committee on Health and Human Services a report concerning each request that is made pursuant to subsection 2 and the determination of the Department with regard to each request.
