Text

During an evidentiary hearing, at the request of a party to the proceeding, the court may permit a witness to testify by telephone or videoconference if the court determines that it is able to adequately assess witness credibility. Except as otherwise permitted by the court, a party to the proceeding may not testify by telephone or videoconference unless he or she is incarcerated outside this State or hospitalized and cannot be transported to the court.
