Text

1. The Director shall include in the State Plan for Medicaid a requirement that the State pay the nonfederal share of expenditures incurred for postpartum care services provided to a recipient of Medicaid for 12 months following the end of pregnancy. 2. As used in this section, “postpartum care services” means medical care that is consistent with current standards of care and provided to a person following the end of pregnancy, including, without limitation:

(a)The development of a plan for postpartum care;
(b)Contact with the person after the end of pregnancy as needed by the person;
(c)A comprehensive postpartum visit, including, without limitation:
(1)Screening concerning the physical, social and psychological well-being of the person; and
(2)If necessary, a referral for a full ass
