§ 4.260 — Court records; disposition upon expiration of term

Every justice of the peace, upon the expiration of his or her term of office, must deposit with his or her successor the justice’s official dockets and all papers filed in his or her office, as well the justice’s own as those of the justice’s predecessors or any other which may be in the justice’s custody, to be kept as public records.
