1. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 2, each teacher in the public schools shall enforce the course of study as prescribed by law, the use of legally authorized textbooks, and the rules and regulations prescribed for teachers and schools. 2. The provisions of subsection 1 do not prohibit a charter school from:
(a)Offering courses of study other than the courses of study prescribed by law;
(b)Using textbooks other than the textbooks that are legally authorized for use in the school district; or
(c)Enforcing rules and regulations other than the rules and regulations prescribed.
