1.If a charter school provides instruction to pupils enrolled in a high school grade level and the charter school requires those pupils to satisfy requirements for graduation from high school that are less than the requirements imposed by the school district in which the charter school is located, the charter school shall not issue a high school diploma of the school district but may issue a high school diploma which clearly indicates that it is a diploma issued by a charter school. If a charter school requires its pupils to satisfy requirements for graduation from high school that meet or exceed the requirements of the school district in which the charter school is located, the charter school may issue a high school diploma of the school district or a high school diploma of the charter s
