Text

“Veteran” or “serviceman or servicewoman” means a person who has served in the Armed Forces of the United States at any time:

1.On or after April 6, 1917, and prior to November 11, 1918;
2.On or after September 16, 1940, and prior to July 26, 1947;
3.On or after June 27, 1950, and prior to January 31, 1955; and
4.On or after August 5, 1964, and prior to such date thereafter as shall be determined by Presidential proclamation or concurrent resolution of the Congress as the end of the Vietnam era, Ê and, in the case of a veteran, has been discharged or released therefrom under conditions other than dishonorable, or in the case of a serviceman or servicewoman, is presently in the Armed Forces of the United States.
