Not earlier than 2 weeks before and not later than 5 p.m. on the day before the first day of early voting, the county or city clerk shall test:

1.The mechanical recording device which directly records votes electronically, if any; or
2.The automatic tabulating equipment and programs, if any, Ê to ascertain that the device or equipment and programs will correctly count the votes cast for all offices and on all measures.
