Text
The town board or board of county commissioners shall fix the punishment for the breach of an ordinance adopted by the town board or board of county commissioners for any unincorporated town to be enforced within the town. No fines may be imposed for one offense in a sum greater than $1,000, and no term of imprisonment may be more than 6 months. In lieu of imprisonment any person committed for punishment may be made to work on any public work in the town, and to that end a chain gang may be formed, continued and operated.
