Text
No constable shall be liable for any damages for neglecting or refusing to serve any civil process, unless the constable’s legal fees (and an indemnifying bond in cases where the constable has doubts as to the ownership of the property sought to be levied upon or attached, if the same shall be required by the constable) are first tendered him or her.
