1. The court shall hear all evidence in support of or in opposition to the petition provided for in NRS 156.140 , and, if satisfied that the allegations thereof are true, and that the missing person has remained missing for a continuous period of 3 years or more and that his or her whereabouts is unknown, shall appoint some qualified person as administrator or executor in the manner provided in this title for the estates of deceased persons. 2.
