1. The Administrator may request that a state agency or local agency provide to the Administrator certain confidential information for the purpose of facilitating the return of unclaimed or abandoned property under this chapter, including, without limitation, the last known address of an apparent owner of unclaimed or abandoned property. 2. A state agency or local agency shall provide to the Administrator any information requested pursuant to subsection 1 as soon as reasonably practicable unless the provision of such information is prohibited by federal law. 3. Nothing in this section shall be construed to limit the ability of the Administrator to request or receive from a state agency or local agency information which is not deemed confidential. 4.
