§ 63-2-4 — [Power to use highway, air and water transports;

limitations.] Every corporation now or hereafter incorporated under the laws of the state of New Mexico, or under the laws of any other state and lawfully authorized and admitted to do business in the state of New Mexico, which is now or may hereafter be authorized by law to own and/or operate railroads in the state of New Mexico, shall, in addition to the powers now conferred by the statutes of the state of New Mexico, have power and authority to engage in the transportation of persons, property and mail by highway transport, air transport and water transport; provided, that any such corporation so engaged in the transportation of persons, property and mail by highway transport, air transport and water transport, shall, in the exercise of any and all of such rights and powers, be subject to all lawful regulations and requirements as are now or may hereafter be prescribed by the statutes of the state of New Mexico relating to certificates of convenience and necessity, permits, registration and public regulations governing the operation of like transportation service and facilities by any person or corporation; and, provided further, than any such corporation organized under the laws of the state of New Mexico for the purpose of owning and/or operating railroads, may exercise in any other state any power hereby granted only in conformity with and to the extent permitted by the laws of such other state.
