§ 6-25A-19 — Conflicts of interest; penalty
A.If a member, officer or employee of the authority has an interest, either direct or indirect, in a contract to which the authority is or is to be a party, that interest shall be disclosed to the authority in writing and shall be set forth in the minutes of the authority. The member, officer or employee having that interest shall not participate in an action by the authority with respect to that contract.
B.A person who has a conflict of interest as provided in this section and participates in a transaction involving that conflict of interest or fails to notify the authority of the conflict is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be sentenced to imprisonment in the county jail for a definite term of not more than one year or to the payment of a fine of not more than one tho
