Text
The "museum board of regents", comprised of nine members appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the senate, is created. In making the appointments, the governor shall appoint residents of New Mexico and give due consideration to geographical distribution of the members. The members shall be persons conversant with or showing a continuing interest in history, fine arts, Indian art, folk art or anthropology. The members shall be appointed for terms of six years or less in such manner that the terms of at least two but no more than three members expire on July 8 of each odd-numbered year. Vacancies shall be filled by the governor for the remainder of the original terms. Members of the museum board of regents shall receive per diem and mileage as provided for nonsalaried publ
