§ 1-21A-2 — Definitions

As used in the Native American Voting Rights Act: A. "early voting location" means an alternate voting location and a mobile alternate voting location; B. "Indian nation, tribe or pueblo" means a federally recognized Indian nation, tribe or pueblo located wholly or partially in New Mexico; C. "polling place" means an early voting location and an election day polling place; and D. "written request" means a request sent in writing by the president, governor or governing body of an Indian nation, tribe or pueblo, including a request sent by a person designated by the president, governor or governing body of an Indian nation, tribe or pueblo to submit written requests pursuant to the Native American Voting Rights Act; provided that the designation has been communicated in writing to the secret
