§ 1-21-2 — Definitions
As used in the Federal Voting Rights Compliance Act: A. "state" includes the District of Columbia; B. "new resident" means any citizen of the United States not qualified to vote in New Mexico by reason of his period of residence in this state who, immediately prior to his removal to New Mexico, was a citizen of another state and who has been a resident of this state for not less than thirty days immediately prior to a presidential election and who will be eighteen years of age or over on the day of such election; C. "former resident" means any citizen of the United States not qualified to vote in another state by reason of his period of residence in such state who, immediately prior to his removal to such state, was a citizen of New Mexico who, had he remained in New Mexico, would have qua
