Text

(1)In addition to the powers granted to it by the provisions of the original act, to acquire or use for its purposes land and other property, each commission is hereby empowered, in its own name but for the contracting municipality or municipalities, to acquire by purchase, gift, grant or devise and to take for public use real property, within the district, in fee simple absolute, or any interest therein which may be deemed by the commission necessary for its purposes. Each commission is hereby empowered, subject to the limitations specified in subsection (a) of section 6 of this act, to acquire and take such property including public property or interest therein, by condemnation, in the manner provided by chapter 1 of Title 20, Eminent Domain, of the Revised Statutes (R.S. 20:1-1 et seq.
