Text
The Director of the Division of Taxation may, if necessary, direct an assessor or other taxing officer to make a reassessment of any or all of the property, according to rules which he shall prescribe. If the assessor or other taxing officer fails to comply forthwith with the order so given, the director may appoint or designate some other person to make the new assessment under his direction. The assessment so made and affirmed by the director when certified by him to the taxing district shall be the assessment of such property for the year. Amended by L.1981, c. 393, s. 20, eff. Jan. 6, 1982.
