4.Any propane gas supplier or marketer who neglects or knowingly fails to comply with the requirements of this act or of the regulations issued thereunder shall be subject to a penalty not to exceed $1,000 per violation, which penalty may be imposed by the department and recovered in a civil action by a summary proceeding pursuant to the "Penalty Enforcement Law of 1999," P.L.1999, c.274 (C.2A:58-10 et seq.). Payment of any such penalty shall be remitted to the department. L.2007, c.150, s.4.
