§ 52:27D-22 — Transfer of public housing and development authority and state housing council

The public housing and development authority in the Department of Conservation and Economic Development, together with all of its functions, powers and duties, is continued as a body politic and corporate, with corporate succession, but such authority is transferred to the Department of Community Affairs established hereunder. The functions, powers and duties of such authority shall henceforth be exercised or performed by the Commissioner of Community Affairs through the Division of Housing and Urban Renewal in said department, subject to the same extent as heretofore to the rules and regulations of the State Housing Council herein transferred. The State Housing Council in the Department of Conservation and Economic Development is transferred to the Department of Community Affairs established hereunder. Such council shall continue to have all of the powers and shall exercise all of the functions vested in it by law. This act shall not affect the terms of office of the present members of such council, and such council shall continue to be constituted and the members thereof shall continue to be appointed as provided by existing law.
