The commission shall continue in force in such municipality, and shall exercise the powers and perform the duties conferred by this chapter until all bonds or notes or other indebtedness of the municipality which has fallen due, and all bonds or notes which will fall due within one year, and the interest thereon, have been paid or funded or refunded, or the payment thereof in cash adequately provided for by a cash reserve, excepting tax anticipation or tax revenue notes or bonds of the current year, at which time its authority under this chapter shall cease. Thereafter the Director of the Division of Local Government in the State Department of Taxation and Finance shall have the power to continue the employment of the auditor as provided for in section 52:27-6 of this Title, and to exercis
