§ 52:17C-6 — Municipal compliance

The governing body of each municipality shall: a. Provide or cause to be provided the data required for the establishment of the automatic location identification capability of the system. b. Within one year of the operative date of this act, notify in writing the county 9-1-1 coordinator appointed under this act of the nature of its proposed participation in the system, whether singly or in conjunction with other municipalities or on a regional or county basis. This subsection shall not apply to those municipalities located in counties which have a county-wide PSAP in existence on the operative date of this act. c. Within three years of the operative date of this act, establish, singly or in conjunction with other municipalities or participate on a regional or on a county basis in, a PSAP which utilizes enhanced 9-1-1 network features. The office may extend this time period in the case of those municipalities where it is deemed necessary. L. 1989, c. 3, s. 6.
