2.Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, a public weighmaster appointed pursuant to R.S.51:1-74 shall certify the tare weight of a vehicle used for the transportation of construction materials when requested to do so by the operator of that vehicle. The weight of a commodity transported by such a vehicle shall be determined by subtracting the certified tare weight of the vehicle from the gross weight of the vehicle. It shall be sufficient and not a violation of this Title for the tare weight of the vehicle to be certified no more than seven days immediately prior to the date the gross weight of the vehicle is determined.
